I accidentally downloaded a Virus, Its taking over my computer, Installing stuff, Selling me Garbage, Curropting my Programs (such as System Restore), Making my Computer Run VERY Slow,  Downladng more Viruses (Running Processes have gone from about 35 to 60!), l can't even open up Task Manager or Explorer!  - Apart from Windows Defener and Windows Firewall, I have no other protection beacause this hasn't happed before, You only really get viruses when you download dodgy stuff, which I did and am paying the price for it, Literally, So I am going to have to reformat my computer beacase this virus keeps comming back, But, If I reformat my computer, I will have to re-download all my usaual programs, but I can only download 1GB/Month, If I go over this, I get charged loads, And the Contract is 12 months so its not like it can be cancelled easily. So I don't know what to do really.

yikes not even AVG?

can you do anything to it? what about college, just download there and burn to disc, that'll get around those shitty download caps. that's what i do anyway, bring the laptop in and download all the crap i need. then use the college PCs to open up and check anything suspect.

wait.... you can only D/L 1gb a month?!! that is ridiculously and insanely low!!!! switch companies man, there's definitely a better ISP out there for you!

what company are you with anyway? most of those download limits are to stop torrent/rapidshare users hogging bandwidth.  some companies wont mind if you go over occasionally, just as long as it's not a regular thing. i used up a monthly limit in one day  when i got my new lappy and never heard a thing about it...
yeah, i'm a cranky 'oul fucker. deal with it.

I should have also mentioned this before, But I can't download any ".exe" files at College, They Block it. I can't downlaod it of my Neighbours Unsecured Wireless Internet, Beacause it Either Disconnects or its Turned off. Also, Things like Windows Update and Steam, Will want to download updates for the computer on the same computer.

My I think my ISP is Easynet, The Fastest one I can get in the area. (According to http://www.speedtest.net)

I have got Task Manager to Work by Copying the Backup from "C:\Windows\System32 to C:\Windows, And Explorer now works. What I have starangely noticed, is that if Exploer.exe crashes, the Viruses come back

I also have just installed Norton Anit-Virus, Despite ,most people say it sucks.

Oh, And this made me lol. Kinda.

Hmm.  I assume you don't want to spend any $ on this?  You can download Norton anti-virus from their website for free for 90 days, burned onto a CD at your friend's house.  You will need to run it in safe-mode.  That is hold down F8, or F12 or whatever the windows bootup option is at startup, then run your anti-virus program.

And while Norton may suck, it would have sucked less if it had been installed on your machine.  And AVG is free if you don't want to eventually pay for Norton.  Bottom line, you should not download .exe files from porn sites.

If you have an old machine lying around, you could use a Live CD and run Linux off of it for safer porn surfing. Nothing is saved at the end off the session because you're not using the HD to run Linux, and it won't write to it unless you tell it to.  Once you turn off the machine, anything in memory is wiped.

But do run Norton in safe-mode, or you won't get the virus(es) off of you machine.
You should be more like Cantrip.

Norton isn't as bad as people say. in fact in terms of virus protection it's better than AVG and a host of other alternatives. it's just that the program is so damn heavy and slow to run. but that shouldn't be a concern for you right now.
get Lavasoft Adaware personal. and Spybot search and destroy if you dont have them. both of them have picked up stuff on mine that all of Norton, McAfee and AVG have missed...

Okay, I have manually removed most of the virus, And the Norton Anti-Virus has removed the rest, It seems for now. But, There are Add-Ons in Internet Explorer that are spamming me with lots of adverts. If I Disable them, They re-enable them selves, If I try to Delete them from the Windows\System32 folder it says "Can not delete, File in Use" even though it cant be, I have ended every possiable process on my computer but it will still say it.

no it is as bad as they say, i work in a tech shop,  more than half the computers that come in infected have the latest norton or mcafee, both programs have a tendency to fuck up there own firewall and kill all netwok capabilities, a good program to run: download this if u can,put it on yr desktop or the root of your c drive, start in safe mode and make sure to run it under every user account

OMG.

Last week I had EXACTLY the same virus getting a bad Limewire file. Bastard virus made 21000 junk temp files and screwed all my stuff up. You have to put your computer into safe mode, run an Antivirus sweep and delete every pos.tmp file you find anywhere in the computer, then restart and safe mode sweep again... it's a real pain in the ass.

EDIT: For the Internet Explorer spam files go to safe mode and delete them manually.

Sorry to hear about your infections.  That's what happens when you download pron.  There's not any one anti-virus program that gets them all.  Norton and Mcafee alone will not detect many viruses and malware.  If you want to clean up,  the best single program I've found is Kapersky anti-virus.  Agree with the suggestion above to download a free trial version to get things fixed, but for God's sake get a firewall other than Windows like Zone alarm and also a malware program like PC doctor to clean up the adware and malware that keeps add ons from being re-installed.  Having a computer without protection is like having sex with a whole house of crack-whores without a condom.

What a Quincidence lol, There was 6,000 Files on my C:\ Directory =[ . If you get it again, Immediately Disconnect your computer from the Internet, It downloads more viruses and things. It seems the Virus is "Under Control" now on my Computer, Still can't remove them remaining IE Add-ons though.

I also have a 90 Day Subscription to Norton Internet Security (Anti-Virus, Firewall, Anti-Spam), Came with my Motherboard. So untill thats over I will just use the Norton one.

That sucks dood -_-

I recently got a trojan as well, ironically I was trying to download a keygen for the game "Uplink", a game based on hollywood-style hacking. It was weak as hell though, I just found it on my own and deleted it with my bare hands. Sorry to hear you're worse off though -_-

I recommend AVG.
