Not really a riot.. It was a peaceful protest.. Until some police decided to fuck things up.

The cop in the first video had one legit point, public safety. Had that huge fence sign been blown over onto the freeway, there would have been a nasty accident. Besides that, its wrong. get your ass to mars

Besides that, its wrong. Probably not, they never do anything about the pro-war protesters who hoist giant signs on freeway overpasses, even though they try to throw shit at you when you flip them off. It's legal to hold signs on freeway overpasses, at least in WA. I suppose it's probably also "legal" for cops to pull possibly dangerous signs down on top of people as well... Seattle pigs are pretty notorious for getting physical and doing shady shit. I personally have seen them club an old lady in the back of her head unprovoked, I've run from their pepper spray and rubber bullets myself. My favorite story about them was the time they planted crack on a homeless guy in a wheelchair after they beat him up, I think that one was from last year? You can't mount a big Chain link fence sign on top of an overpass. It was a safety issue. Did you see how easily he just pulled it over?! There was nothing securing it one way or the other. Their freedom of speech doesn't include the freedom to put ppl;s lives in danger to get their message out. Its ridiculous, and if it was your family who was injured because some wind came up behind and pulled it down onto the freeway...well there you go.
Obviously a bunch of idiots. Please don't side with the stupid. God help whatever cause they were touting...they don't even have the sense to think through a reasonable protest.
They look and talk like highschoolers.... " We have done our research SIR!"
LOL. Did you read a bullet point in your Social Studies book and get excited that you could Protest the MAN and do whatever you wanted?! Idiots. Quote:

I agree with Giller.
The cop could have been less of a fucktard, though. TEAM APARTMENT: No one rocks quite as hard as we do. Dick Cheney's Mechanical Heart wrote:the flying spaghetti monster skullfucked Bob's corpse. Lead Salad wrote:My ePenis is 10 feet long! WDF wrote:A pair in douchbaggery.

I'd like to see the gust of wind that could knock over a chain link being held up by 5 people. It doesn't exactly have a lot of surface space for the wind to make contact with. And the cop pulling it down the way he did could easily have resulted in it falling over the other side.

Yeah, the probability of something happening is slim...but you know, It can happen...and if it means moving your sign to someplace safer....why even chance it. Unless you just don't give a fuck, and you might not Rik, just be ready to be held accountable.
HEY! I have an idea! For your next protest...you can write your message on bricks..then fucking throw them off the overpass at teh cars below...that way there is no way they can avoid your message!
Seriously! Lets do it...Fucking pigs might try and take our bricks though...

You do realize that a paper sign held in a single person's hands probably has a higher probability of catching the wind and being thrown into a street, right? I guess we should therefor ban any protests that include signs. And of course any crowd could draw someone's attention from the road and lead to an accident... so we should ban public gatherings along roadways altogether. A strong enough gust of wind could blow any pedestrian into traffic, really. We should probably ban walking, biking, and rollerskating along roads. You could say that a guy protesting against the government in any fashion is a risk to public safety because he's actively trying to break peoples' trust in government, and the government could be made less efficient and less able to protect us if people don't trust it. Point is you can justify just about anything as a "risk to public safety". It's a scale, and what's happening in this video is pretty low on the spectrum of any actual endangerment. The only endangering of anyone I see in that video is when the cop tries to rip the thing down and he steps out into the street to do so - not to mention pulling it on top of a girl.

Saw that video awhile ago on some officer forums I visit....if I remember correctly the officer was trying to cut off the perp but didn't see the wall cause he was focusing on the subject. He asks if he's ok to get verbal responses, if the subject isn't responding he may have to start CPR/medical attention until EMS gets there..
I can tell you it doesn't matter if there is less surface space for wind to catch it or if there were 10 ppl holding it. Its a considerable heavier object then a banner and as heated as ppl get when they protest there is a risk it could fall back or over the retaining wall. It was wrong for him to pull it down and cause an issue w/ the girl getting caught in the way, but if retards would do as asked and take it down, then they can argue their point or more commonly oblige the officer and then as soon as he's gone return to what they were doing....but doing so they face the consequences of double the charges if he comes back
On Cheney's 1st of 3 video...only thing I can see the officer did wrong was his choice of words when chasing the fleeing suspect....nothing to do w/ him being a cop, probably more of him being a redneck (for lack of a better word)
