On Cheney's 1st of 3 video...only thing I can see the officer did wrong was his choice of words when chasing the fleeing suspect....nothing to do w/ him being a cop, probably more of him being a redneck (for lack of a better word)
In addition to saying "run nigger I'm going to kill you" or whatever it was he said, if you listen to the whole thing you can hear the guy asking the cop why he is beating him. You don't see what happens, but with racist pigs I'm inclined to believe that the guy was in fact being beaten. If a pig is chasing me calling me whatever hateful epithet is appropriate and saying he is going to kill me I sure as fuck am not stopping to find out what he wants. Not sure what the chip on your shoulder is about cops, Cheney, but all these prove is that there are a-holes everywhere. If you are afraid of cops taking advantage of you, do not give them the opportunity. Comply and obey at the time, then get a lawyer if you are really wronged by a cop. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

He "could" have been....unfortunately we only get to hear the audio which is the one draw back of dashcams....you can't see what happens when you're out of its FOV and if someone makes a complaint against the officer it comes down to he said/she said but I seriously doubt he was........Most people will say things like that when being forcibly restrained. How many videos have you seen where the police are required to use force telling the subject "Not to resist" yet they continue to to thrash their arms around or kick their legs all the while saying "I'm not resisting!!"
I may be biased since I am working towards going to the Academy...but unforunately most recorded videos don't tell the entire truth all the time.....you only get a slice of the pie that video was edited to (or turned on to). There is no doubt though there are some videos that have officers doing horrible things and those few tarnish a good thing

I don't disagree, but considering what the cop was saying before he "forcibly restrained" the guy I would be inclined to believe that he was in fact beating the guy. The guy is probably a criminal, but now he will be a rich criminal thanks to that racist shitty cop. Re: Me having a chip on my shoulder about cops, I know a few cops pretty well and think they are generally pretty decent guys for the most part. Some more than others. I've only had a few bad experiences with cops personally, one where a cop was a dick and lied to give me a ticket, and another incident where I saw cops beat innocent people and had them shoot rubber bullets and pepper spray at me. There's another incident where a small towns entire police force (or at least a big part of it) dealt out some retribution against someone I used to know that put him in the hospital for more than a week, but I didn't personally witness it. It's hard to have a positive feeling towards cops after things like this. On balance I think most cops have authoritarian personalities and a bad attitude, even if they are decent people who aren't actively trying to do wrong. Whether it's a byproduct of the profession or what attracts them to the job I don't know but I suspect it's a bit of both. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

Probably not, they never do anything about the pro-war protesters who hoist giant signs on freeway overpasses, even though they try to throw shit at you when you flip them off. It's legal to hold signs on freeway overpasses, at least in WA. I suppose it's probably also "legal" for cops to pull possibly dangerous signs down on top of people as well... What pro-war protesters? I am in my car 24/7. I have never seen a pro-war protester. I have never had anything thrown at me while driving on 5, 90, 520, or 405. I have been pulled over numerous times. I have been let go the same amount of times. As far as I could tell, there were 5 douche bags with a heavy ass ill-secured sign that could potentially go through someones window. Take the tinfoil hat off once in a while.

The most popular overpass for this is Freedom Bridge over I5, I think it's just north of Tacoma. Or maybe just south. The first year of the war the bridge used to be packed every time I drove under it. It's tapered off a lot, but I drove under it a month or two ago and there were maybe a dozen pro-war protesters up there. There is another overpass in that area that also gets used, it may be further south though. Back when the jingoism was running high both sides of overpass would be lined with people holding pro-war signs and giant American flags. I'm pretty sure that's the one where someone threw something at me when I flipped them off. Maybe a bird coincidentally took a really hard shit on top of my car and the pro-war protesters had nothing to do with it, that is totally possible. You really need to get out more if you have never seen the pro-war people, go to the next anti-war rally in your area and I'll bet you will see at least some show up as "counter-protesters".
