Ron Paul's brand of libertarianism has long since been purged from the GOP, anyone who thinks the Republicans give a shit about civil liberties or the Constitution is either a total fucking idiot or suffers from mental retardation.

If Ron Paul really gave a shit about what he says he would denounce his party and run as an independent (or fight Barr and Gravel for the Libertarian endorsement, which would honestly not be much of a fight and would make ballot access a bit easier). The GOP leadership runs a tight ship and his little faux mutiny has done nothing to challenge them, I don't think he has even risen to the level of being annoying. For all the money he has raised and the massive organization he has built he's put on a really pathetic campaign.

Hey Dick your thinking is almost as flawed as the name your handle represents.
Parties are flawed. Parties themselves are part of what has let the system become so poisoned.
Ron Paul does not run on the Republican ticket because he favors the Republican platform but because he knows that all third party platforms are crippled and start at a severe disadvantage. To Ron Paul principles mean everything and parties mean nothing but are simply the necessary means on which one must seek a platform. Had Ron Run on any other ticket there's no way in hell he would have made the progress he has. This is exactly why EVERY ONE of the other Republicans wanted him off the republican ticket to begin with.

Give Ron Paul credit. He is a schrewd man doing everything within his power to fix what we've broken yet he will not break his own personal principles in order to achieve that goal.
Revolutions take time.
Anyway even if Pauls movement doesn't get anywhere we probably deserve everything that comes upon us. That's what we get for being complacent and not following the simple rules that brilliant men put on paper for us 250+ years ago.

Sweet, you have a brain. Learn to use it, and not just pick fights with everyone for the sake of picking fights.

Then you amend the constitution. That is allowed. The trouble with our government is that rather than amending the constitution they ignore it. Even to the point that our own attorney general does not acknowledge habeas corpus.

Simple rules like "three fifths of all other Persons"

Ron Paul is like a fly on the elephant's ass, he will be swatted aside and the party will march on. This idea that he is using the party is silly, he has no hope of changing the party. It's just a brand next to his name that let him get into a few debates. When the real election comes it's not going to get him anywhere, except fighting to keep his seat in congress as soon as the GOP has any spare change to spend trying to primary him out of it. His only hope is to run third party, but he's a GOP loyalist despite his rhetoric and will never do that. So the primaries will end and he'll be back where he started and his supposed revolution will fade into obscurity and only political scientists will remember it.

I like how everyone that gets sick of the bullshit you post is a "troll." That's what you called me as well, correct? LEARN THE DEFINITION OF WHAT A FORUM TROLL IS, DOUCHEBAG. You are the troll, we just stupidly reply, thereby feeding you.

Why don't you crawl back under whatever obese no tooth one legged transvestite prostitute you did when you left us the first time (hint, hint).

That's the rub. Ron Paul's "revolutionary" ideals don't actually involve a lot of amending to the constitution.

I used to do shit until I realized it was basically pointless, I'll take a quiet life. If the revolution ever comes though I'll be at the barricades, in the meantime I'd rather be having fun and not worrying if my phone is tapped. Honestly though, I think what's wrong with human civilization is humans. Until we have the technology to overcome ourselves we're going to be perpetually fucked. Maybe that's just a convenient self-delusion to avoid getting pepper sprayed, but it keeps me from existential despair.

So I vote in every election, I try to convince people I know to vote the way I do, I give money occasionally to causes and candidates, and I try to keep my head down and my eyes open.

Ron Paul has specifically stated on many occasions exactly what I just said. That if they(the government) disagrees with the constitution that they should amend it. Not that he would vote to allow the amendment.

Yeah, I'm just waiting until we all have cyberbrains then we can just let an AI control the government, like the one ending in Deus Ex.
