Please for the love of God do not turn this into some laugh fest (I'm sure it is funny to you, but not to me). My brother is home for the summer along with myself. Apparently he has an account on adultfriendfinder.com. He claims to be just searching for a milf, but that part doesn't really matter (I really didn't care). He came into my room a couple of minutes ago and said that there was someone in his chat room that had the exact same screen name as our dad's yahoo screen name. It gets better. He goes on to read that this guy's age is the same as our dad's, and that he lives 0 miles away. The caption said, "Discretion is important. Fun is a must." I have a penchant for smelling bullshit and just feeling when someone is lying or when something is eating at their core. There has been something different about him for a while now, and this just confirms several known feelings. Now this would be fine and dandy if our dad was single and had no attachments, but he has been married for 23 years and his anniversary is tomorrow. I know this is no proof of cheating, but there is a reason George Orwell listed Thought Crime as a capital offense. This is definitely a unique situation and since I can't talk to anyone that I know, I need some outside advice. Only serious advice. There is no deal. I know this not only because of how they act, but because of the "Discretion is important," statement. And what you guys don't know about me, is that I absolutely hate lying. It's the worst thing in the world to me and I think of breaking people's necks when I know someone lied to me. It's going to be very hard walking around him without giving him a knife-hand to the throat or blowing his knee out and then forcing him to tell the truth. Well the thing is he showed me. Even worse, when this happened the fucking asshole was sitting 10 feet away from my mom while she was working on her computer. I was very damn close to just busting the whole thing right there and fucking ratting him out. If it's not your brother messing with you, then you have two choices: 1. Confront your pop, privately. 2. Leave it alone. You should NOT tell your mom. You don't know if it's him and it will destroy her if she is devoted to him. That said, the tendency is to make the target stop or reveal his activities to the faithful wife. You sound like you're a grown man. Is this something you really want to meddle in? Think about it, there is no positive to this. The only thing I think would be acceptable is if your pop is a religious man, then you can appeal to his religious nature. And if you're Catholic, just say he needs to confess to a priest and all is forgiven. If he gets a divorce, the sacrament of communion will not be available to him. Dude, check your dad's computer. Thoroughly. He probably runs Windows so it shouldn't be hard. At all. Make sure it's him. You know the first rules of searching someone's shit. History, cookies, saved FF passwords, .... or the biggest one - the lack thereof. If the worst is confirmed, confront your father. He's not your dad, he's your father. Your life and blood. Be reasonable, and levelheaded. Give him an ultimatum - He quits or you blow it off and take off with the family. Be mature, be responsible, and be reasonable. Well I'm going to get more evidence and just look into this a little further before I act on it. The hardest thing is just going to be acting like nothing is wrong for the next couple of days. Especially since we are going to a hotel for the 4th and I will have to be around him almost the whole time. Thanks for actually giving serious advice guys. Even Cantrip kept it serious on this one. Well my brother and I talked to him about the whole situation. He gave us the answer "just farting around" as a reason for why he was doing it. I don't believe the asshole for two seconds because when he looked me in the eyes and said that it confirmed something that I had just believed at first to be true. As for now I'm just going to be watching incredibly closely. I really don't know what else to do, even though I want to rat him out to my mom.
