Honestly, don't tell your mother. No good can come of it. Keep an eye on your dad and see what happens. If he is screwing around on your mom, make him tell her. It isn't your place to tell. This has the potential to become nasty quickly and while you might want to tell her to make you feel better, it will probably only hurt people's feelings and make things worse. This is no time to go off half-cocked - it's better to get all of the facts.
I'm sorry this is happening to you - it sucks. Belligerent Pimp wrote: The Man Society just suspended my man card for a week for getting rickrolled by Mrs. Mary Midwestern Housewife.

I don't believe the asshole for two seconds because when he looked me in the eyes and said that it confirmed something that I had just believed at first to be true.
As for now I'm just going to be watching incredibly closely. I really don't know what else to do, even though I want to rat him out to my mom. That sounds like the typical answer from a dad who doesn't want to answer the question. My dad basically said the same shit when I confronted him about his smoking the reefer. Men, especially from the older generations, are proud and don't want to admit their faults. I wouldn't tell your mum immediately but I'd at least make it obvious that I was disappointed. Let him know what he's doing is immoral and despicable and see how he reacts.

I looked him in his eyes and said, "I don't believe you," when he said he was done with it. He knows damn well that I think it's stupid and pathetic and I don't plan on making any exceptions from now on. I wish my mom would catch him because that would make things 10 times easier instead of me blabbering about hearsay. It sucks you are in this position. I wish I could give you a big hug. Does a virtual hug count?? Belligerent Pimp wrote: The Man Society just suspended my man card for a week for getting rickrolled by Mrs. Mary Midwestern Housewife.

Being caught will either give him a good reality check, or will stall what is inevitable. I'm not sure of your family situation, but I heard an interesting story from my boss' CPA who deals in divorce cases in Florida. He said that around 75% of the cases he's worked on involve some sort of cheating. This all starts with a married couple with one person bringing home the money and the other staying home looking after the kids. While the homemaker does typical homebody activities, the working person is out living an active lifestyle with meetings, business trips, etc. Clearly the husband and wife are living two different lives at this point. Once the kids grow up, the homemaker then has lost their main function. Since he/she is too old to work and hasn't worked in 18/whatever years, all the focus then goes back to the relationship...which is now not so great as they are two completely different people. At this point, it's only a matter of time before someone starts looking somewhere else...it's just a question of who cheats first. Not saying this is your family, but an interesting perspective nonetheless. As for what you should do. Everybody is right, stay far away from it. If you bust your dad, you've made an enemy. Not to worry, if he does cheat, he will eventually get caught by your mom. get your ass to mars
