I have just finished a telephone interview with a company on the other side of the world.

The interview went extremely well and I have a excellent chance of beating out the other 2 guys that went up for it.

The health beni's are good.

The pay is very rewarding and tax free. There is a large bonus attached.

I would recieve 63 vaction days a year in 21 day increments. The company will fly me to where ever I want in the world for said vaction days.

I would be supervising the loading and unloading of goods / mail in and out of aircraft then flying with the aircrew to the delivery destinations.

I would be working out of Kandahar air base Afghanistan, and flying to regional airports.

The job is dangerous, but after not working for a full year life was getting a bit boring anyway.

Yes, I will get a laptop and if they have internets I will stay in touch. Won't see me FPS'n though.

Wish me luck, cause I would really like to land this one.

Nice!

My bro-in-law just got back from 3 years in Iraq as a contractor.  There is danger, but you gotta live your life.

Make sure you get all the benis and pay they promised in writing.  My bro-in-law was promised lots, saw not as much.

I will Oopsie thanks for the reminder.

The pay is about 60k a year but tax free.

If you all could pick 3 places to go where would you go?

I think we can all say that it's been fun having you around.
You've done a great job in the army and hopefully you do a great job with this one.
Good luck and stay safe.

a buddy of mine did this stuff, he was a veteran from desert storm, so after Iraq Pt 2 he actually did one of these supply runs into baghdad, said it was a highlight of his life. Dangerous, but I'd imagine you have the competence to know this and be ready for it.

All the best luck to you on this endeavor.

Dang, you got a bigger set of balls on you than I.  Er, you know what I mean.

Yeah, make sure all this is in writing.

And will you get to carry a gun for personal protection?
You should be more like Cantrip.

No alcohol, no porn, no guns.  Those were the rules for my bro-in-law as a contractor in Iraq.  Touching any of this was grounds for immediate send home, permanently.

My bro-in-law did not make much per hour, but he did work 12 hour days 7 days a week for 3 months at a time.  He got hazard/time and a half/ etc for the fist 8 hrs and straight pay for the remaining 4 per day.

No guns - OK, that makes sense. We wouldn't want Blackwater to feel threatened by the enemies, the army its sent to work alongside, AND the other contractors!

No alcohol - Makes sense. DOn't need drunken idiots doing stupid shit. Like blackwater.

No porn - wtf are you supposed to do? Wank in the corner once a week so your sheets don't get stained? Rape and pillage the towns... like Blackwater? Turn gay? That's just dumb.
