I admit to hating Vista less after using it some, mostly because MS finally came up with a semi-rational HAL independent imaging system for installs. Makes semi-automated mass-installs a fuck of a lot easier. Besides that, disable the stupid UAC and change around the settings to make it look and act like XP and the only real draw back is that its slow as fuck and does dumb shit on occasion. I'm holding onto XP as long as I can personally. You mean slipstreaming w/ unattended.xml? And what the fuck does the hardware abstraction layer have anything to do with automated installs? If you are using the image on only the same model, nothing. But if you are deploying that image to multiple models, you have to change which HAL is used. I do not understand this irrational hate of Vista, but it is quite prevalent. I have been using it at work since before the official launch and I use it at home and have had no issues. Also, anybody that whines about the UAC clearly does not understand its purpose or how to manage it. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

This psychic lady I know says she dislikes vista because it makes it way to easy for the Gov't to spy on her electronic activities. You wanna take this to Fuck Town? Oh gadzooks, yes!

It's akin to any irrational hate often driven by an "us vs. them" mentality that often pops up in OS wars and to a lesser extent console wars. Ultimately, it all comes down to personal preference. I can use any OS. I've used them. I prefer Windows. *shrug* It's not because it's "better" or "worse". It just doesn't cramp my style.

Vista is alright but definitely not worth buying to upgrade from XP.

People who can't tell the difference between Vista and a super-secret Microsoft "OMGZ" project are generally people who don't know jack shit about computers. People who don't know jack shit about computers are generally not qualified critics. Win Cookies Awarded: 7 (bawwwwww)
