A good retort Lead Salad.
Did anyone see the Americans school the stupid Frenchies after the Frenchies ran their mouths about "crushing" the Americans in the 4x100m swimming relay?

I enjoy watching the olympics.  Some of you might find it boring, stupid, irrelevant.  But I think it's fun, exciting, and interesting to watch young atheletes.....99% of them are normal, everyday people  (Ie not multimilllion super sports stars on contract).  And they give years of thier lives, blood, sweat, and tears to be the best in thier event.

Sports is irrelevant?  Not to them. You should admire the fact that they are dedicated, hardworking, and sacrifice alot to be in the position they are.  I feel a little sad that some people can't recognize the good qualities in men and women that the olympics actually represents.  They just see the guys rowing a boat down a canal.

Its american TV....sure they are going to focus on the american team....do you honestly believe that French or Chinese or Russian tv isn't focusing on their teams.

on a side note.....I thought the opening ceremony was fucking amazing.  If you didn't think that was entertaining/amazing.....there probably isn't anything that you will ever find awe inspiring ever again.

That was so awesome!   My wife and I burst out of our chairs screaming and dancing when that beautiful number 4 lane lite up with a number 1!   Oh the looks on thier faces!   Easily the most exciting race in swimming. Ever.

Yeah my bro and I were watching, and as soon as the last 50m kicked in and Lezak started catching up we both start screaming for him to catch Bernard.  I feel bad for the fact that the Swedes in 5th place still broke the world record and they didn't even medal.

Michael Phelps is a beast out there in the pool.

Read an article that said the guy consumes 8-10k calories every day to keep himself energized and apparently swims 50,000m a week as part of his workout.

Michael Phelps is by far the best swimmer in the world, and pretty much the sole reason America is at the top of the leaderboard in medal standings.

Rowing, shooting, etc.  The events that aren't getting much prime time or any coverage.

India won their first ever gold medal. :)

Led by a whole what...5 seconds?  That was a blowout in the Olympics like I've never seen.

Btw, Michael Phelps has now won more medals than any other Olympian in history and is on pace to tie/beat record held for wins in a single Olympics.

Guy is only 23.

I read that Michael Phelps is 10 feet tall...and that he can shoot balls of fire from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his ass.
