Read an article that said the guy consumes 8-10k calories every day to keep himself energized and apparently swims 50,000m a week as part of his workout.
I read that Michael Phelps is 10 feet tall...and that he can shoot balls of fire from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his ass.
Giller no reason to be an asshole because what he wrote is true... Chase: the only refuge i have from my mom is when i go to my gf's Me: I have no gf, just palmela handerson Chase: Well at least you aren't a double amputee.

You're getting him confused with William Wallace. ;) I forgive you though.

I'm being bothered by the Olympics quite a bit. The two extremes are a bit too extreme. On one side you have sports like basketball in which those who participate most likely cannot come close to participating in anything else- and then it's the effort of a large team rather than individuals. As near as I can tell there were no "team" events at all in the original Olympics. I can understand events like rowing requiring teams, but then I'd expect them to have more than one form of competition; maybe 2 or 3. Then in watching gymnastics, they're only team events? Why not allow them to compete as individuals, in the original spirit of the Olympics - I don't quite understand that one. On the other extreme end you have many competitions which seem very similar. Swimming is the obvious example here. There are at least 8 events that are pretty similar, only having different styles of swimming. Now I know that different styles tax different muscles and each require special training. But if you're someone like Phelps with innate general swimming talent and no ass, you can walk away with a lot of medals. When I compare the swimming events to the gymnastic events, the latter seems much more diverse but still fall under the same general category. I guess what ultimately bothers me is the complete imbalance in talent vs. number of events.

Rikaelus they have individual awards for gymnastics... How do you think Paul Hamm got a gold medal for individual performances? Also, there are plenty of sprinting events that are very similar, but I don't see anyone winning a majority of the medals in those. Glad to hear they still have individual events. Mm.. there aren't too many "sprinting" events. Looks like 5, counting 2 relay races. Looks like there have been a few times where people won 3 of them, and then also won in slightly different areas like long jump and hurdles.

Giller no reason to be an asshole because what he wrote is true... It is a movie quote. Turn down your jump up somebody's-crack-o-meter. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
