I has monies!

My options are,

Second Radeon X1650 Pro (£30, eBay)

Radeon HD 2600 XT (£40)

Radeon HD 3650 (£50)

Or any ATI card under £50

But which would be the best?

Notes:

On some of "Tom's Hardware" charts the Radeon HD 2600 XT is better than the Radeon HD 3850

The Radeon HD 3650 appears to have a lower Clock speed than the Radeon X1650 Pro

Shignog said that the Radeon HD 2600 XT could be better than two Radeon X1650 Pro's

Sad to say, I was a strict ATI fan until going nVidia with the 8800GT. I'm not sure I'll ever look back.

Ditto on this. I ran a Sapphire X850XT for a long time. Solid card with great horsepower. Then bioshock rolled around and with it, pixel shader 3, which the 850 had no support for. Delta recommended the nvidia 8600GT, which I currently run. I continue to recommend nvidia since then.

What brand power supply does your PC have , what wattage, and what PCI-E connectors does it have, how many six pin and how many 8 pin?

If your PSU can handle it the bottom card would be your best option by far, if not the first one.

You can get 4-Pin Molex to 6-Pin PCI-E connectors so thats not a problem

Nice! That'll tear TF2 up at max settings and res.

One note on the cards I posted. The first one is somewhat slower but only requires one PCI-E connector. If you are comfortable using an adapter the second one will be noticeably faster. Also, unless it is a molex to 8-pin you won't be able to overclock the second one without a paper clip shorting the remaining two pins.

Seems like we have a lot of nVidia fans.

Term, since you've got a 550W power supply, you could save up some more clams and go for something like a 9800GTX, or possibly even a GTX 260. I only recommend ATi if you are building a gaming rig for someone else.

eh, its his choice.

but with all the drama surrounding nVidia and its cards breaking down (supposedly all 8-series chips are fucked left and right), and nvidia just trying to cover it up is making me nervous. if something really is wrong, and nvidia refuses to acknowledge it, this issue could bring them down in flames...
