As a proponent of stem cell research I support the right to an abortion for more reasons than morality alone. Forcing someone to keep an unwanted child is downright criminal. Raising them to be dependents of the state is even worse. So someone decides to euthanize a non-sentient precursor of a human being who has known nothing and has nothing to lose? Big fucking deal. People with lives and knowledge and feelings are suffering and dying every day.

Do you agree, then, that men should have access to a legal abortion?  Such as say, signing off any responsibility for a child they may not have wanted?

To me it sounds sexist.  Men get forced to pay for kids they don't want while a woman has the option.

If you fuck someone you are in effect consenting to impregnate them. Unless you use birth control and it fails, or she lies about being on birth control. In that case, go see a judge. Or alternately, get a fucking vasectomy and never worry about that shit again.

That's pretty much every fucking case for people getting abortions. I think it's pretty rare that two people would go "Hey, Lets have a baby!" "Ok!" *fuck fuck fuck* "Wait, I changed my mind".

Which is why you should take the responsibility to discuss this shit before you fuck someone, get a vasectomy, or accept that who you fuck may wind up with your baby in them. Life's a bitch.

Well, maybe you should take in consideration that Life is a bitch and that flushing the unwanted assholes down the toilet is a viable solution also instead of fill the world with even more unwanted assholes that no one gives a shit about.

I'm pro choice. BFD. I love how people get so upset over me saying that, and I haven't done anything. I guess my whole point is, as Jesus says, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." People shouldn't be angry at a pro-choicer if they eat meat, as they're still promoting the killing of a living being. A girl I argued with yesterday said abortions are "fucking selfish." Honestly, I don't care about motive, it's the action that matters. I gave her my animal killing philosophy and she said she was a vegetarian. True, but she used to eat meat. Don't forget leather, or algora, or anything else that usually requires an animal to be killed. Now, if you're totally vegan and have never done anything that promotes the pain and suffering of an animal, thats another thing. That deserves a "good for you."

I once saw a cat eating its young because it was sick. At least nobody is saying we should do that.

I agree, we are human. But we are also animals. Don't forget, I'm not talking about a grown human...or even a baby, I'm talking about a fetus. Unlike an animal, the fetus is not self aware, not aware of its surroundings, not mentally developed, etc.

We're really not that special. We just have the power in the world at the moment. I'd go on but I risk straying from the topic at hand.

And the cat thing is a useful trait for survival in the wild. Sacrifice one for the good of the group.

And something I'm sure humans have employed when the need was dire enough. Hell, given our population growth rates and how quickly we're outgrowing the planet, I wouldn't be surprised if something similar becomes commonplace within the next couple hundred years - if not sooner.

I've known quite a few vegans and none of them were anti-choice.

Nice to see that people here aren't issue voters.
Suffers from the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency — nay — the very existence of George W. Bush

AKA

Bush Derangement Syndrome

What are the different types of voters again? I know there's issue voters, then there's the voters that vote for candidates who will directly benefit themselves, then there's voters who vote entirely based on charisma, and then there's ideologues, who vote for the candidate who matches their own ideology. Am I missing any?

I am an ideologue, which is why I'm not voting for Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich.
