I dont think that by saying that you forgive her, that it is going to deter her from reaching out to your friends. Its only going to embolden her because 'McCheese thinks its okay and doesn't have any ill will toward me'. And if you really have moved on and dont care, then let her come back into your friend circle. Right?

All I'm saying is that if you want to open this particular can of worms, then by all means, send the letter. It WILL, however, open the lines of communication that you are trying to close. She isn't going to let that go without a response. Count on it. I can attest to this from the other side of the fence. Had a very messy falling out with somebody who was madly in love with me whom I actually happened to care about very much. He said he never wanted to speak to me again and cut off all communication. I tried to mend fences for months and he wouldn't say a word to me, well the ones he did say were downright devistating. So I eventually left well enough alone. A year later out of nowhere I got a random LJ reply to a post I had made from him. It painfully tore open old wounds and after making the difficult choice to write him off the last thing I wanted to do a year later after I was starting to feel good again was to hear from him. lol you're such a bitch, Spaniard. Cheese, I think it would help us understand your problem more if we knew what she did to deserve such cold treatment.

yes, indeed...sorry, I actually realized earlier I had forgot to mention why she dumped me...I'll try to keep it brief
We were dating for about 3.5 years. In the last few months of our relationship, a guy she worked with was putting the moves on her, and I suppose she really took the bait. I suppose it was easy for her due to other minor problems we had. In March of '03 we got to talkin about our future and things like marriage, since I'm Catholic, and she Lutheran, we talked about who would convert to what. Earlier in the relationship I said I would switch. When we had this talk though, I recanted because I am Godfather to my nephew. When I made that retraction, that didn't go over very well. We also got to discussing where we would live if we were married. She basically said she wanted to live in South Dakota, and I said I would really rather live somwhere more...urban...kinda stay where I am, near Minneapolis. That didn't sit well with her either, and ultimately, we decided to part ways that night...it was sad.
A couple months later, the end of April, I really got to missing her, it didn't help that she lived in the apartment right above mine. Anyway, we got to talking some, and we kind of got back together, but it was really tentative, and she was not quite the same. Two weeks later, about mid May, she called it off, she left me citing that she didn't really want it with me and wanted some more single time. Right away I was fine with it and accepted it, that lasted only about a week though, and I kept pressing for us to work out. She was different though...she was cold, and dismissive of me. I would ask her if she was seeing somebody else, she would flatly say no, and that she didn't want to for a while. Since I didn't think she was dating anybody else, I kept persisting to get back together. I even told her that if she was really dating somebody else, I would leave her alone.
That carried on for about a month. She was gone from her place a lot, when I would catch her leaving, she was dressed to impress, the same way she dressed and acted when she and I were just starting out. She would have more makeup on than usual, and she would wear tight shirts that accentuated her niiiice chest. I started figuring something was up, and I started sinking into a bit of a depression. It was the middle of June when all was revealed...she finally told me that she had in fact been seeing the guy she worked with...the guy who worked in the meat department of a grocery store...the guy 13 years older than her. She said she had been seeing him since about the end of April. She also told me that day in June that she had started sleepind with him since about the begining of the month. Well, after that bombshell, I got sick...physically sick...I also slipped into serious depression. I didn't eat anything for two weeks, I literally ingested only water and juice for two weeks. Just about three months after that, they got engaged.
We were together for over three years, and in the span of five or six months, it's all gone and she got engaged...later, they had a kid, then later they got married. I've been over her for a long time now, despite what people may say of think...I dunno what else to say about it... I do. You seem like a stand up guy. Send the letter and be done. Do it for yourself, not for her and be done with it. She crushed you, you deserved better.

LUTHERAN! SOUTH DAKOTA!! LYING WHORE??!!
I'm a little unclear about why you would ever communicate with her again. If you're into pain, then send the letter; otherwise live and let live. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

Also, sorry to hear that story McCheese, twas quite fucked up. I know how it feels I've had quite a few fucked up situations like that happen myself. Oh and don't send that thing seriously. I did something along those lines once and instead of feeling better I basically got told to fuck off. McCheese wrote:full story You're acting the way I did after my first big breakup. You're simply not looking at the big picture. All of this can be summed up in one sentence. The girl you dated for three years cheated on you. Look, any relationship that ends rough will always have a long story. Just keep it simple and move on. In the big picture this isn't that big of a deal and it happens all the time. Besides, she'll divorce the guy in a few years anyways. It's easy to get lost in a world of pain...when you sit there picking apart everything that happened. Once you understand that she simply cheated on you and stop focusing on the little shit, time will take care of the rest and you'll be gravy. get your ass to mars
