Personally, I'm considering buying L4D2 for Xbox, since I already have L4D1 for PC. That way I will be able to play it in both varieties. Quote:Razor: As hard as one might try no one will ever be able to pull one over on Super Penguin. Backpack of Win

I've been thinking about buying this. I've been surprised just how much I love the demo. I miss co-op FPS fun. I miss FPSes in general... Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

I'll agree with Giller that some classic moments came out of playing L4D and it was super fun while it lasted. The problem was however, that it got extremely monotonous after about 2 months of release. The lobby system was also sub-par and made looking for good games a hassle. That being said I may look into this sometime in January if the price drops. Again though some will argue, I stand with Endyss when he say's this is a glorified patch. As for Half Life Episode 3......well I doubt they are postponing it to make it as great as it can be. I'm slightly cynical, but my experience waiting for Duke Nukem Forever broke me and has lead me to suspect Devs who stay relatively mum on their games. Who knows, maybe they are more concerned with Zombies as that seems to be the 'cool' thing amongst the crowd at the moment. Bottom line, LFD2 looks cool but I'll wait for a price drop before I commit. And Bragr stop being a tool. This isn't 4chan. I'm the leetest one here

On the subject of Episode 3, I'm pretty sure Gabe Newell handled it in an interview in the spring some time. Valve developers get to work on what they want to work on, not what Valve orders them to work on. That being said, Gabe stated that there were a lot of ideas that the dev team did not get to implement in L4D1 that they felt couldn't really be put into a downloadable content package. So instead of continuing to work on Episode 3 and Portal 2, everyone went over to L4D2 to implement all these minor changes that they were apparently chomping at the bit for. As is the norm for games currently, Gabe stated that Episode 3 would be out "when it's ready," but that he wouldn't make the community wait another 6 years for a new chapter in the Half-Life saga like they did with HL2. I say after L4D2 calms down they will start working on Episode 3 again, if they haven't already, and it will most likely be out in the summer next year. Although I believe that Episode 3 will be an incredible end to the episodes section, I don't think it's because they wanted to develop technology and make it the greatest game ever (that sounds a bit like a conspiracy theory to me). Completely off topic, I know. Chase: the only refuge i have from my mom is when i go to my gf's Me: I have no gf, just palmela handerson Chase: Well at least you aren't a double amputee.

What changes? As much as I've loved the demo it's basically L4D1 with melee weapons. Razor wrote:Killing people is good therapy.

The only reason why a good portion of these things didn't get added in is due to the map in l4d1 which creates balance issue. From all the video's I've seen, these maps are more room-ier making it less over powering of a charger to ram all 4 of you guys in one of the many hallways in No mercy hospital or blood harvest train station. But... these things could be avoided by preventing spitter spawns in this map or etc.

But... these things could be avoided by preventing spitter spawns in this map or etc. I dont agree. Its not a map balance issue. You could put any of the new infected into the old maps and it would only enhance gameplay. Also, there are plenty of narrows in even the demo. The charger is not OP in hallways, he gets basically one shot at ramming and even if he hits, he is obligated to a single target after the charge (similar to a hunter that pounces). He cannont just keep charging around.... Maps can be changed and redesigned. They didnt say "hey lets throw in the charger! because it would be so awesome!" only to have a map guy groan inthe background and say" no that means i have to make wider hallways and more open areas". No. The charger was designed post-release to combat player tactics of finding the little safe corner spots in each map and hunkering down in them and making a little alamo. (see - 2nd floor bedroom of blood harvest, random closet on runway at the end of dead air, etc etc.) The charger knocks all the players out and away grabs one, knocking them into the floor. Same thing with teh spitter...forces players to keep moving and not hole up in a tiny room and wait out the horde. Gabe newell explained all this in several interviews that the new infected were introduced to break players of thier defensive tactics. Quote:

I mean it looks like somebody took the PC version and maxed out the graphics at about mid range. I've always found this odd with Valve games on consoles though, seeing as the 360 can put out some phenomenally pretty games, yet Source a fairly old engine that can look gorgeous on pretty low end computers can't or Valve won't go full detail on it. Erm, Don't know if the source is reliable or not but I don't think that L4D is run on the same engine as the Half-Life games...
