Rumor has it that the ball is capable of distracting enemy sentries. If this is true, HOLY F'ING BALLS will that make the Scout class more useful for an entire team (situational at best). I won't get my hopes up on something so unofficial though, but I have to admit, Valve is definitely making the Scout a more useful class in both long range combat and enemy humiliation. =P DredNaught wrote:In regard to the ladies... or lack thereof: Just remember that it's about quality, not quantity. Even though I thought the spy would get it. Really? Honestly, I think the Scout almost entirely needs some kind of perk like an Uberbuster...or a sentry/sniper foil. The Spy already has clocking/deceptive abilities, so an Uberbuster almost makes the spy seem TOO useful, imo. The Scout gets almost no playtime in a defensive situation; ordinarily the time where Ubers are unleashed making Scouts moving meatbags with "lol" worthy ragdoll deaths. I'm 99% sure Valve said they'd never include a weapon that someone could use to make you lose control of movement or mouse control. Way to fail, Valve.

"...stunning the living crap outta anybody dumb, slow, drunk, mute or Australian enough to get in the way."
I can't express how much this made me laugh. I really, really can't!
As for the actual weapon: holy rage quit, Batman! This, if used properly, will be an infuriating and useful weapon.
I'm going to have to play Scout more often and master this so I don't learn to hate it first, lol. wrote:{pDs} TitaniumPhoenix: We're Mexican. I say we pull a razor outta our titties and cut them! I also find it odd that they would include a 'stun' in an FPS. I see this being hit or miss.

This baseball rumor about sentries had better not be true. Scouts don't need to be able to defeat a sentry. Ithink it would unbalance them because it's really the only thing that keeps a good scout from going anywhere he damn pleases by himself. Quote:

Did someone order a crit rocket? I agree with Giller, they don't need to go after sgs and it didn't sound like they could. Having said that, I can't wait for no double jump plus a direct hit required. It pains me to see a crit rocket that any other class would have landed on, be missed by the damn scout. Let the killing begin!

I don't think it would make them that op, scouts are pretty weak last time I played. It would depend on how long the sentry would be distracted by the ball.
