I work for the University I attend as a Senior CA (RA). I don't fuck around because it's a fun job and I've found that if I treat people well they treat me well in return and make my job infinitely easier. I've also worked in a post office and a pharmacy during my university career and I have never treated anyone bad. Even if a customer treats me like shit I just do my best to help them out, (plus It is really hard to hate me) It worked out every time. I think it's quite petty to retaliate for little reason as some people here have done, but if that floats your boat more power to you.

In short I agree with Giller and Virus.
I'm the leetest one here

Giller [GwDR wrote:
You are steadfast, how is that a cop out? Your wwii example was an obfuscation by increasing the complexity of anything we had talked about by 1000 fold.

I agree that the WW2 example is more complex and doesn't apply directly to this situation but on the whole it still disproves your reasoning that people somehow attain respect for other people's property and well-being with age and through working and owning things.

Giller [GwDR wrote:
You already have claimed you will fight tooth and nail to defend anyone who "feels" wronged and lashes out as they see fit....even if you might personally not do it. Why you cannot come to terms and apply that philosophy to your own example

I don't get what you're trying to say.. apply what philosophy to what? The WW2 example or my own personal example of how I treat people?

Giller [GwDR wrote:
But you have already stated the world is full of contradication and hypocrisy, so I guess its poetic in a way.

I'll try to be as succinct as possible. I believe in ethical relativism. I laugh when people act like there's "right" and "wrong" things to do that apply to everyone universally. People like to try to shut down this philosophy by pointing to repugnant situations like Hitler, etc. I'm not a nazi, I don't ever want to associate with murder, but I cannot in good faith pretend like there's some universal, objective punch card and the Holocaust has the "wrong" bit activated. From what I could understand by what you posted (which is not a good source) you believe the opposite. I am not sympathizing with or adapting Bam or Bragr's personal beliefs, I am merely showing that people are different from you and think differently and that to claim that someone else's actions are wrong by simply pointing out some qualities about the people who carry them out is erroneous. Furthermore I am offering evidence that your reasoning itself is erroneous.

Finally, you don't know me. You don't know my life story, you don't understand my beliefs, experiences, upbringing, or situation, you don't know how I treat others (in real life). All you really know about me is my general age (It's 19) and from that you assumed a very wide range of things. Then, using these assumptions, you basically concluded that I'm wrong because I'm a young and don't understand life, and you're right because you're older and know so much more, and that in this situation I could never be right and you could never be wrong. That is a cop-out.

I get to stick needles into the people I don't like...

Then again, I have to do that to the nicest patients too. My job is kind of cruel like that.

Some of our legal pro's around here can verify this, but I think think the girl and a sharp attorney could make life miserable for the boss under the Privacy Act(The comments about her work performance).

Completely juvenile and nonsensical, but once an asshole boss I had yelled at me for something he had fucked up. He did it on front of everyone to save face and make it look like I did bad. I was so pissed that when he walked away I farted all over his desk and keyboard.

Usually it's better to actually tell your boss that it wasn't you that fucked up. Of course I am in a union and all so my boss has to have a valid reason to discipline me and can get in trouble for yelling at me, especially undeservedly and/or in front of coworkers.

This is what an acupuncturist does:

"Needling is like looking at a deep abyss: take care not to fall ... Your hand must be like a hand grasping a tiger. One desires a kind of firm strength.
The willpower is quite full. See the patient without turning the eyes from left to right. Without rerouting the movement, you just desire the rightness or rectification of the spirit. Doing that, you succeed in making qi circulate easily"

from the Su Wen, chapter 54
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. Smells like ... victory"

Start another thread for the discussion of moral fiber in the workplace. I want to hear more naughty things that people did while working.

I like the farting on the keyboard. Thats classy, man.

This is in England, thus the reference to the P45.

In a perfect world yes, but like I said asshole, he treated me like garbage and petty childish crap like that was really my only release.
