Incase you haven't seen yet go to blizzards main website http://www.blizzard.com. They yet again have a mysterious front page up hinting at yet another big game announcement. For now my money is on Diablo 3.

I don't think so. It's far too soon for D3. It's only been, what, 8 years or so?

All jokes aside, I think that running WoW MMO, releasing S2, oh, and developing WoW XPack 2 consumes far too many resources for them ATM, and trying to develop and distribute D3, the team for which the company (not so) recently lost is too counterintuitive for their business - they'd be pushing themselves out of the money instead of raking in more.

Probably just a gimmick to attract attention to their (Paris?) expo.

speculation aside, we should find out whats goin on at their expo in paris in a few days.

however...to speculate!

symbols have been discovered in the ice that very closely resemble runes from Diablo 2; namely, Hel and Shael. as far as holy's comment on stretching themselves too thin, Blizz has 3 teams running atm: one for WoW, one for SC2, and one for an as of yet unannounced project. so theyve definitely got the power. also, with the merger with Activision, they have way beyond the resources to market it and so forth. as far as losing the Diablo team, blizz should be fine. a game doesnt rely on a few single people who have worked on it in the past, and blizz didnt lose everyone who was on the team. trust in them to actually deliver a quality product, no matter what it may be.

oh, and you can sorta see lines of lava behind the ice. maybe some sort of "we're unfreezing hell and bringing diablo back" sorta thing. who knows?

but...given the ice, it could easily be for WotLK. when you also take into consideration that the splash page only shows up on the blizz main site and the WoW site, this makes even more sense. but again....who knows?

check out the conspiracy

update time! day 3 of the splash image reveals and supposedly debunks most of the assumptions from yesterday. this is getting fun!

the new rune, located near the bottom/center of the image, is most definitely the Protoss insignia. This points to a potential route that they took last year in south korea, that of showcasing each of their properties before unveiling the new one. this would put the diablo 3 hopes to death, at least in the short term, as now those runes would mean absolutely nothing.

in addition to the splash page however, there are images that have been found in the directory. labelled 4, 15, and 23, (with respect for the order they were posted in), they start to form this sort of purple cloaked figure, the final part of which we should see tomorrow if they keep their schedule. however, if you take the way the picture is forming, it looks more like:

4 23
_ 15

with the bottom left being the missing part. wo what does it al mean?!!??!?

stay tuned, casue tomorrow the image should be complete, and we should be seeing more of the ice disappear....

That looks like a tuskarr, those walrus things in northrend. This is probably for WotLK.

A few weeks before they announced SC2 they removed the CD check in a patch. The latest patch for Diablo 2 dropped the CD check. Conclude what you may ;)

Its a POV series of images depicting what  a WoW Yeti's turd see's before its pooped out onto the cold tundra of northrend.

@Whut - I do link the ice images to the new XPack for WoW, but the runes indicate something relating to Diablo, as well.

I will admit that the glowing eyes that appeared with the latest development have a very "diabolical" feel to them.

Meh.

Diablo II was the only Blizzard game that I actually played more then once. (Never played WoW and never will.)

Diablo 3 would have been a much, much more epic move then more World of WarCrap even nerds don't care about.
