Predator Drone. Fires hellfire missles i think.

More to come in Drones as well....DoD is very busy on this.

The US Air Force and Navy are currently developing the next generation X-45C UAV and it is quite an impressive platform in its own right.
The X-45C, an outgrowth of the developmental X-45A, uses a composite skin over an aluminum frame and incorporates stealth techniques pioneered on the F-117 Nighthawk and carried forward on the B-2 Spirit and F-22A Raptor. It has a cruising speed of 650MPH, a service ceiling of 40,000 feet and an operational range of 1,300 miles. The X-45C is also capable of carrying eight 250 lb bombs in its internal weapons bay. The estimated cost for each plane is $30 million (compared to for a $133 million single F-22A Raptor).
Can't compete with a piloted F-22A in any respect except the price tag ....and no loss of pilot life....they will get better. Quote:

Because those terrorists are putting up such a fight against our current technology. It seems to me that ground-based drones would be much more valuable in the War on Terror than aerial combat drones. We lose a lot more people to land mines than we have getting shot down. Even automated "exploratory" drones to crawl through mountains and caves would be helpful.

Crusher is an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) funded by DARPA and designed by Carnegie Mellon's National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC). The thrust of the Crusher project – which builds on another NREC-designed UGV called Spinner (Crusher is sometimes called Spinner version 2.0) – is pretty much the thrust of all of the military-funded research and development in the UGV world right now: increased perception capabilities, autonomy and ruggedness. The U.S. Army would like few things more than an unmanned, silent tank that can carry limitless payload, defend itself against the enemy and speed unfettered across terrain that would have the Hummer curled up in fetal position. That sucked. This is better:
· Fear of escalating regional conflict · White House seeks British backing
Quote:
A secret order issued by George Bush giving US special forces carte blanche to mount counter-terrorist operations inside Pakistani territory raised fears last night that escalating conflict was spreading from Afghanistan to Pakistan and could ignite a region-wide war.
The unprecedented executive order, signed by Bush in July after an intense internal administration debate, comes amid western concern that the war against the Taliban in Afghanistan and its al-Qaida backers based in "safe havens" in western Pakistan's tribal belt is being lost.
Following Bush's decision, US navy Seals commandos, backed by attack helicopters, launched a ground raid into Pakistan last week which the US claimed killed about two dozen insurgents. Pakistani officials condemned the raid as illegal and said most of the dead were civilians. US and Nato commanders are anxious to halt infiltration across the Afghanistan-Pakistan border of insurgents and weapons blamed for casualties among coalition troops. The killing of a US soldier in eastern Afghanistan yesterday brought American losses in 2008 to 112, the deadliest year since the 2001 intervention. The move is regarded as unprecedented in terms of sending troops into a friendly, allied country... [read more, click link above]

The Palin interview I posted, the interviewer asks her if we have the right to invade countries like Pakistan without their permission.

Then we're not using them very well. Soldiers still seem to be killed or mutiliated by roadside bombs on a day-to-day basis.

I like how every time Bush does something it's secret and sinister. If it's so secret, why do we all know about it?

I was watching the history channel the other day (9/11) . They had a special on ground zero videos....It reminded me of how angry americans were...how outraged that we were attacked and how we needed to get retribution to those responsible. There were no democrats, republicans, green party, ...there were just american citizens wanting to hold the attacker responsible for the death and destruction they wrought.
That passion and emotion are all but gone now. Time and a distracting war have taken the fire out of your hearts...you have forgotten. 7 years ago....if pakistan had al-quida cells hiding in its hills....99% of you wouldnt have batted an eyelash at special forces or drones attacking camps...even if there was collateral damage because those fucking pigs hide behind thier women and children. Those cowards set up death training camps inside elementary schools and hospitals.
Bush made wrong in iraq...that most ppl agree upon. But now you are so clouded by your disapproval you attack any action...even action that sets us back upon the path of tracking down Bin Laden, and eliminating Al-Quida. The organization is rearming--reestablishing power....hiding in pakistan because the government there can't or won't get rid of them. They are using the country as a staging ground for sorties (ideological and military) into afganistan.
Do yourself a favor and go watch the fucking towers burn again....watch people jump from teh buildings and watch them fall to the ground. Go watch video of brave ny firemen walking to thier deaths...look at each of thier faces as they walk past the camera. Don't let time and complacency lose the war against alquida. Don't be a coward and look backwards and criticize the actions taken int he right direction.... Bin laden may be in that hill in pakistan....and yet you Cry out: No!
You criticize for selfish party reasons now...its pathetic and unpatriotic. Shame on you.....selfish....the same people who will criticise Obama or McCain in 4 years when we get hit with another attack and the people Cry: WHY! WHy didnt we stop this before it happened? and it will be because cowards called for a halt to bringing murderers to justice.
So go watch teh towers fall again....and then go cuddle a terrorist or worry about pre-emptive action. Quote:
