Not proposing we start one, just asking if one occurred.

What would we be revolting against?

When you really think about it, any "revolution" in this country would be overshadowed by people raiding Best Buys for new TV's a-la April 26, 1992.

I assume by your statement that you are unhappy and will be packing up a leaving the country.  Try to go somewhere with internet connectivity so you can keep in touch.  See you and take care.

See, the proper answer "yes" will get you blacklisted by the government, so to all you pussies who voted no "its alright."

Now, the question is whether armed revolution would change anything.  I wouldn't put it past president douchebag to nuke its own populace....would you?
Suffers from the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency — nay — the very existence of George W. Bush

An entrenched establishment that ultimately amounts to taxation without representation.  While the outcome of the election depends on the votes of the people, the system is rigged from the beginning.  There are two parties whose differences are more shell game than ideological divide, and the game is set up now such that the will of the people means nothing.

In the debate chatroom last night, in response to a question to both candidates of "how can we trust you," I said I'd promise my vote to either person that would say "You can't trust us, but we're the only choices you're going to get, so too bad."  That goes to the core of it.  Our country can't afford to bailout companies, promise entitlements to everything and everyone, and go on humanitarian, peace keeping, and democracy-promoting military excursions around the globe, yet that's all either candidate is promising.  And why?  Because anyone who'd stand up and say our country doesn't have the money to do these things is run out of town (see: Ron Paul), while people making hollow promises are given a pass.  So you have two parties promising the moon, voting to print more and more money, and to hell with the consequences.

I'm not advocating the violent overthrow of our government, and I believe in the principles on which it was founded.  But our system has evolved to a point where the Constitution is meaningless, unelected financiers (see: Hank Paulson) control the purse strings, and both sides of the debate echo the same big government platitudes.  Things are going to change one way or the other, whether because our currency becomes worthless and the nation decends into decay or someone stands up, peacefully or otherwise, and forces the train back onto the tracks.

Okay, what's with all the hate?  Obviously I recognize the problems the nation has going on, but all the "dying empire" "death to america" stuff isn't furthering the discussion.  And if you're so certain and don't care anymore, why are you still here (in the US, not the forums)?

Show me a country where this isn't the case (minus the two party system bit). Every means of governing people, be it monarchy, democracy, communism, dictatorship, borg, etc., or anywhere else you have power in the hands of humans is corrupt by nature. I made a college career out of international politics and believe me when i say we're lucky to have the system we do. It's not perfect, but we have a culture of constantly questioning authority (a good thing). In Russia, that shit would get you killed or imprisoned for "tax evasion" and other fabricated crimes.

Correction: I don't believe the borg are corrupt.
