why bother paying for mouse traps when you have a free one. that snake would love you. well, maybe he/she would only eat 1 a week or however many they usually eat. but still, you have a freekin snake and a mouse problem...do the math.

IT'S ALL OVER. GENERAL CUSTER MADE HIS LAST STAND, IN A BUCKET.
  It turns out that his thrashing about for the last few days was his attempt to get out of the bucket he fell into. This is a food-grade bucket used for mixing food or liquid. It's in the trash now. He must have died sometime yesterday. We opened the door and found the trap as we had left it. Then there was the smell, coming from the bucket. Sure enough, there he was. I'm still debating whether to make a little Custer outfit to put on him. I'm watching a show on Custer on the History Channel right now. You should be more like Cantrip.
