Just got back from watching the movie. It was pretty solid but lacked substance..The meat and potatoes of the film was missing much like J.J. ABrams other creation LOST, the TV series.  Good style but not much substance.  SPOILER ALERT!!!:  The movie builds and the creatures that come off the main one are solid as well as the main creature but the ending was unfulfilling.  Much Like No Country For Old Men.  The Difference is No Country For Old Men was a solid movie with lots of substance and a brief  ending that seemed unfinished.  Cloverfield just ended.  As the viewer you expected to see at least 20 minutes more of the main character and his girl make their way out of the city or at least see a wrap up to their lives and the monster but instead many things are left on the table such as did the monster live?  Did the guy and girl live?  ect ..ect ...ect.   It reminded me alot of Blair Witch Project as far as how it was shown through a Video camera for the entire film and lacked the same qualities as BWP.  I would tell you guys to wait till Video and then watch it.  The special effects, music,  and cinematography are nothing that can't be captured from your home system.

Overall:  I give it a C+

I liked it. The ending was weak but the originality of the movie was refreshing.

Yeah, I'm definitely not going to pay for it. Wake me up when the torrent community has a good copy.

Although people talking about the ending is getting me peeved. It's horrendous that people go into a theatre and expect their hand to be held and the plot blaring with obviousness. Thanks a lot, tv culture.

Yes this movie will make more than 100 mil. Maybe not opening weekend, but it will. Especially overseas box offices.

What did you not get about the ending to "No Country"? It had an ending. You were expecting a neat and tidy finale? It made you think. Like did he kill the guy's wife? Yes. How do you know? He checked his shoes after leaving. He didn't get the guy with the money out right, but it was said earlier in the film that he won't stop ever. Eventually, he will get him. I bet after the guy spends all the money. Probably drunk and broke in some seedy hotel room in the outskirts of Vegas. My guess anyway.

I saw it.  I liked it.  Be sure to judge before you see it, that makes tons of sense.

I'm going to see Cloverfield this next week probably. I'll sneak in after I see "There Will Be Blood"... again.

This is the kind of movie you have to appreciate to enjoy. Most of the idiots in the theater made fun of it when I was there, but it's a fantastic movie and is probably one of my favorite movies so far this year. The only people that won't like this are those who are used to more conventional movies (or people who get motion sickness...)

Supposedly they were up their own ass with 9/11 references. Is this true?

I saw it and I thought it was a pretty decent movie. But I would have dropped the camera in the very beginning.
